The European Commission has highlighted that 3rd November was Equal Pay Day in Europe – the point in the year when women effectively stop getting paid compared to their male colleagues. This happens because the average hourly pay of women in Europe is currently 16.3% lower than that of men.

The UK’s highest court has ruled that employment tribunal fees introduced by the Government in 2013 are illegal. The fees were required for a wide range of employment law claims, including for pregnancy and maternity discrimination.

A BBC survey found that two in five women in the UK have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour at work, while only a quarter of these women have reported it. The same survey also revealed that almost one in five men had been harassed at work.
